Moukarzel...delighted with agreements

THE Golden Tulip group has signed agreements to take over two hotels in Saudi Arabia comprising 129 suites.

Golden Tulip Al Jubail Hotel comes online through an agreement with Al Ohali Holding and is located in the heart of Al Jubail city overlooking the Arabian Gulf and close to the King Abdulaziz marine base.

Offering 69 luxurious suites as well three meeting rooms, the property is well equipped to deal with both family and business travellers.

Amine Moukarzel, senior vice president of Golden Tulip Hospitality Group, Mena said: 'We thank the owner for this opportunity to expand in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we are looking forward to a prosperous future in the kingdom and striving constantly to provide superior service standards.'

The company’s second new property is the Golden Tulip Dammam, for which an agreement has been signed with the Etqaan Company.

Golden Tulip Dammam has 60 suites – 35 one-bedroom executive suites and 25 two-bedroom ambassador suites, all fully equipped with a kitchen and living room.

The property also boasts an indoor swimming pool and gym and three meeting rooms suitable for up to 100 people.

Meanwhile, the company’s Golden Tulip Suites in Dubai Al Barsha, UAE, is forecasting a brisk year end with increasing demand after Eid and through the winter season.

Dr Haitham Murad, area general manager, Al Hokair Group which manages the property, attributes the increase in room demand to the rising number of tourists visiting the city as airlines connect more cities to Dubai.

The Al Barsha is adjacent to one of the world’s biggest malls and minutes away from a well-known beach and business districts such as Dubai Media City, Internet City and Knowledge Village.

Demand for rooms is up all the way through until March 2012, especially in the leisure travel segment, with the hotel already 68 per cent sold out for the winter months of 2012 and average room rate up by at least 15 per cent on the previous year.

'This is a clear sign that the hospitality industry in Dubai is seeing recovery and we are looking forward to a brisk winter season,' said Dr Murad.
