SITUATED in the heart of Juffair in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the four-star deluxe K Hotel will make its presence at ITB Berlin once again this year.
According to general manager Volker Mandlowsky, the hotel will continue its journey through growth and innovation with its largest Hosted Buyer programme in place.
“With the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix F1 season just around the corner, it goes without saying that being present in Berlin before the kick-off date of the race will give the hotel a great exposure. The show will also be a great opportunity for us to enhance our relationship with the key players in the market,” said Mandlowsky.
Mandlowsky says that in terms of occupancies, hotels in Bahrain have shown growth during the past two quarters, with a steady average rates and RevPar. The trend has continued into 2013 though this will largely depend on the political situations in the island.
“Bahrain is predominantly a corporate destination. The leisure segment consists of two sub segments: international leisure travellers and GCC leisure travellers - still Bahrain’s primary source market. The GCC leisure primarily constitutes visitors arriving via the King Fahd Causeway, while international leisure consists of demand generated by racing events, third party intermediaries, and visitors to the Unesco World Heritage Centre. Minimal leisure attractions have limited the demand generated for pure leisure travel in the island while meeting and events demand makes up the remaining portion of the market.
“We are looking forward to create more demand from the International leisure market, aiming to generate more revenue from that portion of the business,” he added.
For the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix F1 season the hotel is already in discussions with business partners to promote the Bahrain as a destination as well as the hotel.
“This year we hope to continue to provide the same style of service to our guests; with added benefits or any restrictions on stays,” concluded Mandlowsky.
