THE Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai have started works on a massive expansion programme that is expected to continue in several phases throughout 2013.

The expansion will see 255 new rooms, comprising of new 150 Deluxe Rooms and 75 Club Rooms and Suites open to guests by end of spring this year.  A new Pool bar, state-of-the-art ballroom and meeting facilities and three new restaurants and bars, will round-up the hotel’s expansion plans.

Simon Moore, general manager of Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai said, “We also have an on-going refurbishment plan active on the existing Hotel wing in order to keep us ahead of the market while the expansion plan is in motion.

“Completion of soft refurbishment of the existing rooms, wi-fi and wireless connectivity across the property and development of an alfresco dining Terrace that will connect its existing outlets including Cactus Jacks Latino Restaurant & Bar, Biggles English Pub and Gozo Garden all day dining in the current Hotel leading the way in the wake of the new expansion plan of the new wing,” he added.

The Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai has always sat competitively amongst the market leaders, with major business coming through electronic channels via global distribution systems, online travel agents and corporate booking channels.

“Concurrent with both the new expansion and on-going refurbishment development plan, we will continue to explore and engage in new business channels - in line, in trend, in pace with the world’s growing resources in technology in order to reach and attract both the hotel and its destination,” added Moore.

Similar to the key source markets for Dubai’s economy, the hotel’s key source markets include guests from the US, UK, Europe, Australia, KSA and GCC markets.

“We see new opportunities and are progressing in business coming from the Africa, Indian & Sub-continents and Far East markets.”

“Dubai being the hub of the world’s aviation industry and its strategic geographic location as a gateway to the east and west, avail the Hotel opportunities to grow its business as set how it was out to with the expansion,” said Moore.

The hotel is also committed to its CSR activities and announced a CSR Campaign and Committee earlier this year. Since its commencement, its members have truly dedicated themselves in driving awareness through activities such as, ‘Reduce, Recycle, Rethink, Recreate into Art’ competition, ‘Earth Hour 2012: Save Energy, Save Lives’ and Waste segregation campaigns.

“CSR principles are incorporated into the hotel procedures. Being one of the preferred business hotels worldwide, we at Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai have always considered our society in all our business practices. We respect the environment and the community and pride ourselves as role models for the hospitality industry,” said Moore.
