AccorHotels opens Fairmont Chengdu

THE debut of Fairmont Chengdu marks the 200th property for AccorHotels in Greater China. As Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ first property in Western China, Fairmont Chengdu is a landmark hotel in the capital city of Sichuan province, known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The hotel’s 336 guest rooms and suites offer stunning views of Chengdu’s skyline. Mice facilities include 11 meeting rooms and function spaces. The 730-square metre grand ballroom features natural daylight with an adjoining VIP room.
 

Three openings for Central this year

CENTRAL Hotels is on a steep growth curve. Unveiling the group’s upcoming projects in The Palm and Business Bay, Ahmad Ali Al Abdulla Alansaari, chairman of Central Hotels, said, “The year 2017 is a very exciting year for us with three exceptional properties opening in quick succession. This massive expansion will double our existing inventory of rooms from 524 to 1220 keys and reflects our commitment to serve the needs of our guests with great value in iconic locations such as The Palm and Business Bay. Bay Central located at The Burj Khalifa district features 284 keys and is expected to welcome its first guests in the third quarter of 2017 followed by two other hotels of 208 and 204 keys each in The Palm. All three properties are in the 4-stars category and progressing well towards completion.”

DoubleTree by Hilton ups UK portfolio by 12

DOUBLE Tree by Hilton introduced an additional 12 properties to its UK portfolio in the past 12 months and now welcomes guests at more than 30 hotels throughout the country. Eight of the 12 hotel openings were part of a $20 million conversion programme, providing unique, contemporary accommodations and full-service facilities to guests in Aberdeen Treetops, Bristol North, Coventry, Dartford Bridge, Edinburgh Airport, Newbury North, Southampton and Strathclyde.


Dusit partners with Cathay Pacific

DUSIT International and Cathay Pacific Airways have signed a partnership agreement to offer special benefits throughout the year to members of Asia Miles, the airline's frequent flyer programme. This partnership will provide Asia Miles members with the opportunity to earn up to 2,800 air miles per stay during the launch promotion.

Under the new partnership, Asia Miles members earn up to 500 base miles for every qualified stay at Dusit Hotels and Resorts worldwide throughout the year. During the launch promotion, which runs from now through 31 March 2017, members will enjoy the best available room rates with a complimentary late check out until 4pm, and receive five times the base miles to earn up to 2,500 miles per stay.

 

Two new Radisson Blu hotels for Dubai

THE Rezidor Hotel Group signed two new Radisson Blu hotels in International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) and Dubai Studio City in Dubai. The new signings follow Rezidor’s recent announcement that it will open 14 new hotels in the UAE by 2019, and part of expansion plans to have 100 hotels and 20,000 rooms in operation by 2020, across the Middle East.

Radisson Blu Hotel, International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), Dubai will feature 356 rooms, and, with construction already underway, has an anticipated opening date in Q1 2019. Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Studio City will be located in the southwest of Dubai, within Studio City. The hotel will have 290 rooms, meeting & events facilities, restaurants and a nightclub. The hotel also is scheduled to open its doors in 2019.

The year 2017 will also see the opening of The Rezidor Hotel Group’s most prominent property in Dubai in recent years. The highly anticipated Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront, a 432-room hotel with stunning views of Burj Khalifa and Dubai Water Canal, is set to open in Q2 of this year.
