New Sofitel to come to Wafi City in 2019

ACCORHOTELS has announced the largest Sofitel property in the Middle East with development partner MKM Commercial Holdings. Expected to open in early 2019, Sofitel Dubai Wafi will join the luxury brand’s growing portfolio of 14 hotels and 4,400 rooms in operation and under development in the Middle East.

Sofitel Dubai Wafi will feature 501 luxury guestrooms, inclusive of 86 suites, ranging in size from 55 to 625 square metres, in addition to 97 studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced residences to be operated on an extended-stay basis. The property will offer several dining concepts including an Asian speciality restaurant, gastro pub, a unique destination restaurant, bar and lounge on 43rd and 44th floors, a French lobby café, an all-day restaurant and a pool bar.

Guests of Sofitel Dubai Wafi will enjoy proximity to Wafi Shopping Mall, Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and the Dubai International Airport.

 

Dubai International to revamp

DUBAI International Hotel, located within one of the world's busiest spaces, the Dubai International Airport (DXB), has announced an extensive refurbishment and upgrade programme. The 530-room hotel will undergo refurbishment of rooms in Concourse C, resulting in a more stylish and contemporary accommodation for transit passengers. The hotel’s Food and Beverage outlets are also scheduled for re-invention, with 'Safar' being transformed into an International Food Village with offerings from across the globe.  Popular 'McGettigan's Irish Pub' will shift from its original location at Concourse C to the new Food Village.

 

Eagle Hills reveals Palace Fujairah plans

EAGLE Hills has announced plans to build its second five-star hotel in Fujairah in a bid to attract tourists and investment into the Northern Emirates.

Located centrally in ‘Eagle Hills Fujairah Beach,’ a master-planned development, the new ‘Palace Fujairah Beach,’ is a premium luxury hotel to be managed by Address Hotels + Resorts. The beach resort will feature 162 rooms and suites set by the beachfront featuring contemporary architecture and Arabesque patterns, testament to a city embracing the future while staying true to its heritage. The hotel will be set on prime piece of coastline on the Gulf of Oman, known for its beautiful sands, vibrant sea-life and the serene mountainous environment.

Eagle Hills Fujairah Beach is a mixed-use development that will also feature a gated residential community, comprising of 84 villas and townhouses available in two, three and four bedrooms with stunning beach, garden, and city views. It will be the first residential development in Fujairah city with direct access to the beach.

 

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island coming soon

HILTON Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort will be part of the $3.27 billion development plan announced by Miral for the southern end of Yas Island. The 641-room resort, opening in 2019, will be in the Yas Bay, a three-kilometre stretch that is anticipated to become one of the most iconic and vibrant waterfront destinations in the region. Facilities will include a multi-purpose conference centre, seven dining outlets and an innovative urban beach concept with an infinity pool suspended above the waters of the Arabian Gulf. Hilton Hotels and Resorts has a longstanding history in Abu Dhabi, stretching back more than 40 years when Hilton Abu Dhabi become the city’s first international hotel.
