Bahrain and Russia are looking to strengthen their bilateral relations and enhance areas of cooperation to achieve their joint tourism related goals.

The means to create strong ties between both countries were discussed during a meeting between Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa, chief executive officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Igor Kremnev.

Shaikh Khaled also discussed the results achieved by BTEA’s representative office in Russia and the partnerships they have established with travel agencies to attract visitors through touristic packages and weekly charter flights, which has driven a 101 per cent increase in the number of incoming Russian tourists compared to the same quarter of last year.

Kremnev expressed his gratitude to Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa for the warm welcome he received during the meeting, expressing his readiness to enhance joint efforts and bilateral initiatives and to continue to explore new horizons of cooperation in the interest of both countries.

This meeting comes as part of a series of bilateral meetings held between BTEA and ambassadors to the Kingdom, in order to promote its tourism identity under the slogan of ‘Ours.Yours.’ with an aim to develop the tourism sector in line with the Economic Vision 2030. - TradeArabia News Service
