Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has launched a sale on fares to Switzerland, as the country announces permitted travellers from the UAE are not required to quarantine on arrival.

Passengers can fly from Abu Dhabi to Geneva or Zurich in Economy for just AED999 return. The sale is valid for only 24 hours at etihad.com from 11 am, April 9. This fare is limited to select travel days on a first come, first served basis. Guests who book between 10 and 15 April will enjoy return fares starting from AED1,999 in Economy, and Business fares from AED9,999. Travellers can take advantage of these fares for travel before June 30.

There is no need to quarantine when travelling to Switzerland from the UAE. Travellers are permitted to enter Switzerland if they are a national or resident of Switzerland, Liechtenstein, or a national of any EU country. Visitors who start their journey in a country listed as high-risk by Switzerland, must quarantine at home for 10 days. The UAE is not classed as high risk under the current list.

Etihad operates three times per week to both Geneva and Zurich, with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Flying to, from, and via Abu Dhabi is supported by the airline’s fully redesigned sanitisation and safety programme, Etihad Wellness, which ensures the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at every stage of the customer journey.

This includes specially trained Wellness Ambassadors, a first in the industry, who provide essential travel health information and care on the ground and on every flight, so guests can fly with greater ease and confidence. All passengers travelling with Etihad receive complimentary Covid-19 insurance, which is valid for travel until 30 September 2021, the airline said.

Etihad was the first airline in the world to announce it is operating with 100% of its crew on board vaccinated. To give guests peace of mind, Etihad is the only airline in the world requiring 100% of its passengers to show a negative PCR test before departure, and on arrival in Abu Dhabi, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
