The 70 sqm kids family escape suite at Rixos Bab Al Bahr on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah

As part of its family friendly outlook, the resort now offers 715 rooms ranging from 35 sqm deluxe, premium, two- and going up to 190 sqm three-bedroom suites that include the Kids Family Escape room, re-designed especially with children in mind. This room comprises two connecting bedrooms with a king size bed in one and bunk beds in kids’ bedroom with separate doors and a common hallway. The bunk beds have USB in them to charge up those iPads that even the littlest family member now has.

In addition, the Rixy Kids club for 4- to 12-year-olds offers a calendar of fun and games and is full of activities like treasure hunts, cooking classes and disco to name a few. Children under 4 would need to be accompanied by an adult in Rixy Kids or there is babysitting available at an additional cost. For those 10- to 17-year-olds, Teens Republic also offers a range of activities suitable for these older children as well as Playstation, pool and boards game available.

It’s not just the kids that have plenty to do at Rixos Bab Al Bahr. For the more energetic adults, there is beach volleyball, football, basketball, a fully equipped gym as well as fitness classes, a variety of watersports and a diving club too. The watersports are chargeable and it may be wise to book during the busy seasons.

For those who really want to relax and unwind, there are eight swimming pools including an infinity pool and an adult-only pool, private cabanas (are bookable and have an added charge) and one of the largest spas in Ras Al Khaimah. Avitane Spa has a separate area for men and women, each one offers a secluded private swimming pool. There is also a traditional Turkish Hammam, which is offered free of charge for every guest (other treatments are chargeable). There is unlimited access to the steam room and sauna, ice fountain, and quiet reading and relaxing areas.

As for the food and beverage offering, situated in what is called Entertainment Square are seven restaurants – so you are spoilt for choice. The all-day dining at Seven Heights buffet has different themes each night and is available without booking (with a kids buffet – keeping the kids friendly theme) but for the other ala carte restaurants, you would need to book to secure your table. These outlets range from Turkish, Italian to seafood and the bars, pubs and lounges where you can enjoy a coffee or a cocktail and watch the world go by. Ice cream and sandwiches are being passed around all day too – so you don’t even have to move for a snack!

With such a large inventory of rooms and so many activities, Rixos Bab Al Bahr is ideal for the MICE market as well from a corporate event or that special wedding day. Situated just 80 kilometres from Dubai International Airport, it’s no wonder that the CIS, UK and the local UAE staycation market make up the top market mix for this Rixos property.
