 oneworld unveils debut fully branded lounge

Breaking new ground in luxury air travel, the oneworld alliance recently unveiled its first ever fully branded dedicated airport lounge in Seoul, as it prepares to celebrate its landmark 25th anniversary later this year.

For the launch of its first branded lounge, oneworld collaborated with global aviation ground services provider Swissport and the team behind its award-winning ASPIRE Airport Lounges.

Situated in Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport, the spacious new oneworld lounge stretches across 555 square metres and features stylish seating in a contemporary new setting for up to 148 customers. The lounge is no more than a 10-minute walk from the furthest oneworld airlines’ departure gates.

 

Qatar Airways launches summer Tashkent flights

Qatar Airways announces the latest addition to its summer schedule, launching four weekly flights to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, starting June 2, 2024, and bookable now. Tashkent is located at the heart of Central Asia, a region known for its rich history and diverse cultures shared with the neighbouring countries of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The destination is the second city served by the national carrier of the State of Qatar in the Central Asian market following Almaty, Kazakhstan.

 

Munich Airport beats pre-pandemic Asia traffic 

The high demand for air travel is reflected in the increasing number of aircraft movements at M’unich Airport. The airport will see record numbers of services to Asia in the 2024 summer flight schedule starting on March 31.

A total of nine airlines are currently planning 107 weekly flights to 14 destinations in ten countries in East and South Asia, in comparison to the 101 flights operated by five airlines before the pandemic, in the 2019 summer schedule. 

The destinations now covered by flights from Munich to East and South Asia are Tokyo, Osaka, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Seoul, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Male, Taipei, Bangkok and Singapore.

 

Turkish Airlines launches digital wallet

Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Turkey, has added a new service to its digital offerings for passengers by launching the TK Wallet application.

The new digital product, TK Wallet, enables the airline’s Miles&Smiles members to make payments and refunds faster, said a statement from Turkish Airlines.

The airline also offers an opportunity to earn TK Money on top of the refund amount for ticket and additional service purchases made through its mobile application and website.

Chief Commercial Officer Ahmet Olmuştur said: “In line with our digitalization goals, we continuously improve ourselves to implement applications that will facilitate our passengers’ travels. We are working to make our services more accessible and continue to introduce innovations that will add comfort to our guests’ travel experiences.”

 

Fly Jinnah connects Islamabad with Sharjah

Fly Jinnah, Pakistan’s low-cost carrier, announces its expansion into the international market with the launch of its first international flight between Islamabad and Sharjah. The new service, launched February 17, will offer non-stop double daily flights between Pakistan’s capital city, Islamabad, and Sharjah.

To support its international operations, Fly Jinnah added two new Airbus A320 aircraft to its existing fleet, bringing the total number of aircraft to five, enhancing the airline’s capacity to cater to the increasing demand for reliable and affordable air travel.
