This season will also see the opening of the 15th deluxe hotel in the resort, Les Suites de la Potinière which replaces the former two star La Potinière located in the centre of Courchevel 1850.
The hotel offers a 500 sq m apartment, 15 contemporary styled suites, lounge bar, spa with swimming pool, sauna, turkish bath, massage and body care treatments. New safety mechanisms in the ski area include the Magnestick system, which will equipped the Signal and Dou des Lanches chairlifts. The Magnestick was launched in Courchevel on the Pralong chairlift last winter. The system allows children to be safely carried on chairlifts using a magnet. A permanent magnet, built into the seat of the chairlift, is activated throughout the ride, from the point when the child gets onto the chair until disembarkation when the magnet is deactivated.
A back protection, worn by the child, has a built-in metallic plate. As soon as the metallic plate comes into contact with the magnet, the child is ‘secured’ to the seat.
The resort has also redone signs at the top of the Saulire to make it easier for customers to find and to make the right choice.
The first aid posts of Saulire and Chenus have been enhanced with a newly created welcome desk.
For skiing, a new track from the summit of the Pralong chairlift to where the Swiss chairlift departs has been established.
There is also new snow culture network on the slopes of the Saulire Combe, Bouc Blanc and Arolles. Connections between Courchevel 1850 and Méribel-Mottaret and la Tania and Courchevel 1850 are now secured.
A morning 3 Vallées ski pass valid until 12.30 pm has also been introduced.
