New appointments at Beach Rotana Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi has appointed 15-year leisure veteran Daniel Morariu (pictured) as director of recreation.
The hotel has also appointed Patrick Bischoff as executive chef.
Bischoff has 30 years of hotel experience with Rotana, Hilton, Sheraton and InterContinental.
Al Bustan Rotana Dubai gets new GM
Mohammad Haj Hassan has been appointed as general manager of Al Bustan Rotana Dubai. Hassan joined the company in 2003 as food and beverage manager at the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi.
His most recent role was as general manager Al Salam Rotana in Khartoum Sudan.
Olsen joins Four Seasons
Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria welcomed Jesse Olsen as its new executive chef with responsibility for the hotel’s signature restaurants.
He began his food career in 1989 in Washington moving to the Four Seasons Hotel Olympic, Seattle, in September 1994.
ADNEC and Hyatt appoint Kumar
Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and Hyatt International Corporation have announced the appointment of Ashwini Kumar as the general manager of the Hyatt at Capital Centre.
Prior to this he was hotel manager of the Grand Hyatt Dubai, a position he held since 2004.
New joiners at Etihad
Hareb Al Muhairy (pictured) has been appointed Etihad Airways’ vice president, corporate communications having joined the company in April 2009 as head of corporate communications. The airline has also appointed Roberto ‘Bobby’ Hukom as country manager for the Philippines. He previously worked for Gulf Air.
Cucos joins Al Murooj Rotana Dubai
Al Murooj Rotana Dubai has welcomed Nicoleta Cucos as the new director of human resources. Cucos previously held the same position at the hotel’s sister property Towers Rotana Dubai.
She will manage an international team comprising employees of several different nationalities.
Hussein for Holiday Inn Dubai
Holiday Inn Dubai, Al Barsha has appointed Mohamed Anwar Hussein as its new director of sales. He previously held the same position at the Copthorne Hotel Dubai.
Hussein has also worked for Shangri-La and the InterContinental Hotels Group.
Grand Hyatt Dubai welcomes KhogalyGrand Hyatt Dubai appointed Fathi Khogaly as hotel manager. He joined the Hyatt Family in 1988 in the food and beverage department and worked in various outlets at the Hyatt Regency Dubai. He was part of the pre-opening team at the Grand Hyatt Dubai and was resident manager at the Hyatt Regency Dubai.
Minor International expands team Minor Hotel Group, a subsidiary of Minor International, has strengthened the team at its Bangkok headquarters. Marisa Aranha (pictured) joins the company as vice president sales and Ross Crowder is the new vice president project management. Both were previously with Starwood.
New sales manager for Arabian Park
Tom Rhodes recently joined Arabian Park Hotel as a sales manager.
Prior to joining he worked as a sales assistant and duty manager for Nuffield Health and Wellbeing in England. He has also volunteered with Nationwide Hospitality, and gained experience working at the British Grand Prix and the British Open.
Premier Inn appoints Hollinshead
Premier Inn has appointed Amanda Hollinshead as head of sales for its three properties in Dubai.
Hollinshead joins Premier from Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai where she was senior sales and account manager. Prior to this she was with Macdonald Hotels in the UK.
GIBTM gets new exhibition director
Reed Travel Exhibitions has appointed Craig Moyes as its new group exhibition director for the global meetings and events portfolio. Moyes was previously exhibition director of World Travel Market, a position he has held since 2006. Prior to this, he also directed and managed events for Informa PLC and Brintex Exhibitions Ltd.
New appointment in Prague The Rocco Forte Collection has appointed Jodi Masterson as director of sales and marketing at The Augustine in Prague. Masterson has been with the company for seven years most recently as director of sales and marketing at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England overseeing the development of core hotel strategy.
New executive chef at Anantara Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Bernhard Koll as executive chef. He has risen from sous chef at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Elbow Beach, Bermuda, to executive sous chef at the Oriental Hotel Bangkok, Thailand. He will oversee all five restaurants at Anantara Si Kao.
Jumeirah Group appoints Doble Jumeirah Group, has appointed Clive Doble as director of sales for Jumeirah Group in London. He will manage the sales team and play a significant role in maximising rooms revenue, occupancy and market share both for the Jumeirah Carlton Tower and Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel. Prior to Jumeirah, he was with British Airways.
