More than 250 exhibitors will take part in this year’s edition of Horeca, the Lebanese hospitality and food service event.
The programme for the 17th edition entitled Rendez-vous du gout was announced at a press conference held under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism Fadi Abboud and attended by Nabil Itani, CEO and general manager of IDAL, Pierre Achkar the president of the Lebanese Federation for Tourism Associations, Paul Ariss, president of the Syndicate of Restaurant Owners, Cafés, Night-clubs and Pastry Shops Owners and Georges Nasraoui the president of the Syndicate of Lebanese Food Industries as well as the commercial attaches of the embassies of France, Egypt, Jordan, Italy and Cyprus.
The annual hospitality and food service exhibition, which will be held at Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Centre from April 27 to 30, is organised by Hospitality Services and will cover an area of more than 10,000 sq m and exhibitors are expected from Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Argentina and Poland as well as participating countries Canada, France, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, and the UAE.
Horeca 2010 has added two new pavilions: the coffee and tea pavilion, and the drinks pavilion, both of which will include various workshops and activities.
Creative and original events will be held live in the presence of a panel of international judges. In ‘Défilé en Chocolat’ and ‘le Salon Culinaire de Beyrouth’, 250 talented chefs will compete live in different categories.
The Table Setting Competition will combine restaurants, hotels and event organisers who will showcase their creative abilities in setting up and decorating tables.
The Annual Hospitality Forum will gather together key hospitality professionals to discuss the latest industry trends.
At the Atelier Gourmand, prominent international chefs will unleash their talent and invite trade visitors to participate in tasting sessions. Countries from around the world will showcase unique culinary traditions at the World Culinary Heritage area and, last but not least, will be the National Olive Oil Contest, a genuine contest where producers from all over Lebanon will display their olive oil.
