Hyatt House makes country debut

EARLIER this year, Hyatt House Jeddah Sari Street opened its doors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The opening of the Hyatt House hotel is a significant step towards increasing Hyatt’s brand footprint in the extended-stay segment and growing Hyatt’s brand presence in the Middle East.

Hyatt House Jeddah Sari Street is conveniently located in the Al Salamah District, in close proximity to Madinah and Thaliaya Streets, which connects to the Corniche, Jeddah’s coastal resort area. The 102-residentially inspired upscale guestrooms, studio and one-bedroom kitchen suites, along with restaurant, fitness centre and prayer rooms, provide the ideal home-away-from-home setting.

Movenpick Hotels launches fourth in Jeddah

MOVENPICK Hotels & Resorts, a premium brand within the AccorHotels portfolio, has its fourth property in Jeddah.

Movenpick Hotel Tahlia Jeddah is a stylish and sophisticated lifestyle property with a prime location on Hail Street, just 30 minutes from King Abdulaziz International Airport and within walking distance from both the thriving Jameel Square commercial building and the famous Al Thalia shopping street.

With a leading-edge noise-cancelling system built into the structure, the hotel’s 161 spacious rooms and suites, equipped with expansive living areas, are a haven for business and leisure travellers in the heart of the city.

Oyo Hotels & Homes to launch operations

OYO Hotels & Homes, the world's fastest-growing chain of leased and franchised hotels, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to launch operations in the kingdom. The signing took place during the Saudi-Indian Forum, organised by the Saudi Arabian Government Investment Authority (SAGIA), to bring together growing start-ups that have high growth potential in Saudi Arabia.

With a string of over 50 signed full-inventory - franchised exclusive hotels and over 3,000 rooms in seven cities in Saudi Arabia, OYO Hotels is ready to offer the benefits of its full-stack technology led hospitality model to hoteliers in the country.

At the time of entry, OYO Hotels & Homes will offer guests a standardised experience – perfectly suited for the needs of millennial travellers, seeking high-quality accommodation. These properties will be operated under the franchise model, with full inventory control similar to other markets like India and China. These hotels will provide affordable living options for travellers from GCC countries, India and other international tourists, including business and pilgrimage travellers.

 

World’s largest Crowne Plaza to open

INTERCONTINENTAL Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management agreement with Bougary Holding Co to develop Crowne Plaza Makkah Beban, which is scheduled to open in December this year. The 1,200-key hotel will be world’s largest Crowne Plaza and a landmark hotel for IHG.

Strategically located in close proximity to the Holy Mosque, the hotel will join the existing InterContinental and Holiday Inn properties in the city and cater to the influx of pilgrim visits. Crowne Plaza Makkah Beban boasts a host of facilities including two restaurants and a coffee shop, a business centre and three meeting rooms (3,323-sq-m in total) to cater for a range of meetings and events.

Originally from Makkah, the Bougary family has been in business for over 200 years. Based in Jeddah, Bougary Holding Co develops, manages and maintains properties including residential, commercial, clinical and marketing complexes; While the group’s business is predominantly real estate, it has recently focused on hospitality in Makkah and Madinah markets.
