Experience Hub, the trade and promotion arm of Yas Island Abu Dhabi, is drawing on this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) to highlight the destination’s readiness as it looks forward to welcoming back regional and international travellers to the award-winning island.

With excellent safety measures, new attractions and enhanced summer packages, Yas Island Abu Dhabi is guaranteed to be the preferred destination for global visitors of all ages.

Liam Findley, General Manager, Experience Hub, said: “Arabian Travel Market is the perfect opportunity for us to reconnect with the travel trade in a long-awaited physical setting and highlight the extensive work we have done behind-the-scenes to prepare for the opening of international markets.

“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our teams across the island have responded vigilantly to ensure the wellbeing of our guests and staff, and we are proud to say that we are one of the safest destinations in the world for travel. Building on this foundation, we have pushed ahead with our new developments and demonstrated a world-leading framework for the staging of major sports and entertainment events. The only way is up for Yas Island as the world makes headway in global inoculation and we strive to rebuild the travel and tourism sector. We are delighted to be able to support the trade with an enhanced product offering that will undoubtedly be a huge draw for global customers.”

Since the start of the pandemic, Yas Island has welcomed back the domestic market and successfully reassured UAE residents of their safety and well-being during their time at the destination. To date, Yas Island has introduced numerous initiatives such as the widely commended ‘Yas Wellness Program’, granting guests direct access to a dedicated team of Yas Wellness Ambassadors who are able to answer queries on the health and safety measures in place across the island. This has been coupled with the #TogetherAtYas’ digital platform - a one-stop shop for all the responsible and fun experiences that can be had. What’s more, 95 per cent of eligible team members across the island have been vaccinated, including attractions, experiences, hotels, restaurants and retailers, ensuring that international travellers can be confident in returning to travel safely.

As a result of the world-leading safety enhancements, Yas Island’s theme parks and attractions were awarded the ‘Go Safe’ certification by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and CLYMB Abu Dhabi.  The certification is one of 25 health and safety accreditations received by the destination, including the coveted ‘Safe Travels’ stamp by the World Travel and Tourism Council in August 2020 - the first destination in Abu Dhabi to receive the international honor.

Pressing ahead with its growth and expanded offering, Yas Island welcomed Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island in February 2021, located in the vibrant Yas Bay development. The 525 room property also includes a beach club, provides easy access to The Waterfront’s numerous entertainment and nightlife attractions, which include the pier, 37 F&B outlets and 19 retail outlets. Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island is part of Miral’s AED 4 billion investment into the overall AED 12 billion masterplan of Yas Bay, which will feature three distinct areas across 14 million-sq-ft; The Waterfront, where Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island is located; The Residences; and Yas Creative Hub.

2020 marked Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s 10th anniversary and the award-winning theme parked celebrated by launching two new first-of-their-kind experiences - the Roof Walk and Zip Line. Guests can scale the Park’s signature red roof and take in spectacular vista views of Yas Island, zipping from the heart of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi through the Flying Aces rollercoaster loop.

The year also saw the first live event at the all-new Etihad Arena, the region’s largest multi-purpose arena, with UFC Fight Island Triple Header, hosting a limited number of fans. A line-up of live events will be announced throughout the year following its success, with popular stand-up comedian, Michael McIntyre, scheduled to take the stage on July 16.

As the UAE enters the summer months, Yas Island will be continuing to offer guests action-packed adventures at attractive price points with its Stay & Play Packages and will announcing an exciting array of enhanced product offerings for travel trade.
