Boat show draws international participants

The first Saudi International Boat Show was held last month with 80 companies from 13 different countries taking part.

The event took place at the Al Furusya Marina & Yacht Club in Jeddah and was officially opened by Prince Khaled Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz, the Prince of Makkah Region.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Center, in collaboration with Al Ahlam for Marine Tourism Group, and supported by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), the boat show included a conference on Saudi marine navigation, a scuba diving village with free trial dives, fishing competitions and Jet Ski races.

And visitors got the chance to see the latest offerings in luxury yachts, fishing boats, speed boats and modern marine technologies.

Prince Sultan Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, president of SCTA, was also present at the opening and called the exhibition a testament of the expansion of Jeddah’s tourism activity.

Participants at the event included Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Kuwait, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the UK and the US.
