A room in Maison Souquet

MAISON Souquet, a new 20-room, five-star hotel will open its doors this month in the French capital.

Located in the Peqalle neighbourhood of Paris made famous by the Moulin Rouge, this boutique hotel has been designed by Jacques Garcia, a French architect, interior designer and garden designer, best known for his contemporary interiors.

The 16 rooms and six junior suites have been decorated with a combination of 120 fabrics reflecting the early 20th century’s oriental style. Through the hotel, Garcia has created a modern expression of the 19th century with a blend of Arabian and Napoleon II collection of furniture, artwork and paintings. On the third and fourth floors, the same luxury can be found on a larger scale.

The Maison Souquet Bar will be at the heart of the property, designed to imitate a reading room with its monument fireplace, piano, books and games. Tea will be served late afternoon with a selection of fine teas form the Chinese garden of Maitre Tseng, one of the five best tea sommeliers in the world. In the evenings, the venue will turn into a lounge where aperitifs, signature cocktails and other refreshments will be served.

Maison Souquet will also have a spa, which will be exclusively booked by guests, who are able to reserve the spa with is 10-metre swimming pool.

The Maisons Particulières has one other property in Paris, the four-star Maison Athénée, located near the Garnier Opera house and with interiors designed by Garcia.
