Kuwait Airways to gradually expand Terminal 4 operations

Kuwait Airways confirmed that it is currently working to gradually increase the number of its flights from Kuwait International Airport Terminal 4, in accordance with a phased operational plan.

This plan takes into account security requirements and continuous coordination with the relevant authorities, foremost among them the Ministry of Interior of the State of Kuwait and the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

In a statement, the company said the current operation remains partial, with flights operating from Terminal 4 for between eight and ten hours daily due to reasons related to the security situation and operational safety.

The suspension of foreign transit flights stopping at Kuwait Airport continues during this phase, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The company added that within the framework of meeting the growing demand for travel, the number of flights to London, has been increased to one flight per day ahead of the Eid Al Adha holiday.

It noted that the rescheduling of some flights during the current month of May comes as a result of the transfer of operations from Dammam Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kuwait Airport.

The company stated that new international approvals and permits must be obtained to operate flights directly from Kuwait.

The approvals and permits granted for some flights departing from Dammam Airport differ from those for flights departing from Kuwait Airport.

The company underscored that rescheduling does not mean the permanent cancellation of travel, but rather aims to organise flight schedules in line with the new permits and available operational capacity.

It also noted that every passenger with a confirmed booking will be provided with a flight date as close as possible to their original booking date.

The company indicated that passengers whose flights are affected by rescheduling will have flexible options, including a full refund of the ticket value or retaining its value as credit in an electronic wallet for use in future bookings.

The company affirmed that its current plan focuses on achieving a balance between meeting the needs of citizens and residents and maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational security, until full operations gradually resume.

The company called on its customers to follow up on their bookings and make new reservations through the Kuwait Airways website and official application, or through the company’s sales offices.
