A major archaeological discovery in Sharjah’s Jebel Faya region has confirmed early human settlement around 80,000 years ago, challenging previous views of Arabia as merely a migration corridor. Led by the Sharjah Archaeology Authority in collaboration with international institutions, the study revealed advanced stone tools crafted using bidirectional reduction, indicating high cognitive skills and environmental adaptation. Conducted during the climatic shifts of Marine Isotope Stage 5a, the findings show long-term habitation supported by brief humid periods. The site’s near-continuous record from 210,000 to 80,000 years ago strengthens Sharjah’s nomination of the Faya Palaeolandscape for UNESCO World Heritage status.
Valor Hospitality Partners, Accor, and Al Feroz Group have announced the signing of Pullman Karachi Brentwood Tower, Pakistan’s first Pullman-branded hotel, set to open in 2028. Located at Dolmen Mall Clifton, the 220-key hotel will feature 28 serviced apartments, seven event venues, two restaurants, and a full wellness offering. Designed by International Design Associates (IDA), the project is part of a larger mixed-use masterplan by Brentwood Hospitality. This landmark collaboration brings global hospitality excellence to Karachi’s coastline, marking a major step in the city’s upscale hospitality landscape and strengthening all three partners’ footprints in Pakistan and the wider region.
