Emirates has launched a world-first Comprehensive Travel Cover, offering expanded travel insurance that includes medical protection for conflict-related incidents, along with airline-managed accommodation and extended support during travel disruptions.
The new product, backed by Travel Guard, provides customers
with enhanced peace of mind from the moment of booking.
It includes trip cancellation cover, baggage delay or loss
compensation, unlimited medical expense cover, and emergency evacuation
worldwide.
A key feature of the updated policy is conflict-related
protection, which offers up to $25,000 in medical expense reimbursement and
allows for trip extensions of up to 30 days.
The cover is not restricted by government travel advisories.
In addition, Emirates will provide rebooking on its own
flights or partner airlines at no extra cost when disruptions occur, including
cancellations linked to conflict situations.
The airline will also manage hotel accommodation and
extended-stay support for affected passengers.
The initiative reflects Emirates’ “fly better” service philosophy and its focus on customer care during unexpected travel disruptions.
It complements existing flexibility measures such as free date changes for selected tickets and a 24-hour “hold my fare” option.
Emirates said the enhanced cover is designed to give
travellers greater flexibility, reassurance, and end-to-end support,
strengthening its position as a customer-focused global carrier offering
comprehensive protection across all stages of travel.
Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, said: “Listening
to customer feedback, we realised that travel demand remains strong but there
was a gap in the market with regards to travel insurance cover. Therefore, we
acted to address our customers’ needs. Together with Travel Guard, a
leader in the global insurance industry, Emirates is pleased to offer an
enhanced travel insurance product that is as comprehensive as it is reassuring
for a wider range of situations. With strong demand for travel in summer, we
are proud to offer our customers added confidence in planning their journeys to
and through Dubai when they book with Emirates.”
Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business & Partnerships, Travel Guard, added: “Our long-standing collaboration with Emirates is grounded in a shared commitment to elevating the customer experience. By combining our strengths once again, this new comprehensive travel product offers enhanced protection that sets a new benchmark in the industry and responds to the needs of today’s travellers.” -TradeArabia News Service
