Mleiha National Park has been shortlisted for the “Middle East’s Leading National Park 2026” award at the 33rd World Travel Awards, recognising Sharjah’s growing prominence in heritage and ecotourism.
Located within the Al Faya Landscape, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, the park is competing against four leading protected areas from
across the region.
The nomination highlights Mleiha’s efforts in preserving the
UAE’s archaeological heritage while offering sustainable tourism experiences
through education, adventure, and nature-based activities.
The World Travel Awards, among the travel industry’s most
respected honours, celebrate excellence in destination management worldwide.
As the UAE’s only representative in this category, Mleiha’s
nomination showcases the country’s natural and cultural heritage on a regional
stage.
