WTE Miami 2026 is positioning itself as a major international platform connecting the US travel market with global destinations, airlines, hotels, DMCs, travel technology companies and travel advisors.
The event, taking place at the Miami Beach Convention Centre
on October 27-28, 2026, is expected to bring together more than 7,000 travel
professionals from over 70 countries, including more than 300 hosted buyers and
VIPs.
The programme will combine an international exhibition with
a conference focused on the “Travel Advisor of the Future”, with sessions
examining artificial intelligence, emerging travel trends and changing consumer
behaviour.
Following Fairfest Media’s acquisition and investment in the
2026 edition, WTE Miami is expanding its international focus while placing
greater emphasis on buyer quality and business connections.
In an exclusive interview with Travel & Tourism News
Middle East (TTN), Simon Press, Managing Director, International, Fairfest
Media, highlighted the importance of the Middle East market and invited
regional travel companies and destinations to participate in the event.
“I have loved working in partnership with many destinations,
brands and people from the Middle East and it is a region that I truly admire
and love. The Middle East continues to lead the way in innovation, investment
and ambition within global tourism. I'd like to personally invite the travel
and tourism industry from across the region to join us at WTE Miami. We look
forward to welcoming you to Miami Beach Convention Center October 27–28, 2026,
creating new partnerships and showcasing the opportunities that exist within
one of the world's most important travel markets.”
Building resilience through diversification
Press said the global travel industry has continued to
demonstrate resilience despite geopolitical tensions, currency fluctuations and
changing traveller behaviour. He believes the next phase of growth will depend
increasingly on diversification, technology and international partnerships.
“The travel industry has repeatedly shown its resilience.
Whether facing geopolitical tensions, currency fluctuations or changing
traveller behaviour, it has continued to adapt, innovate and grow.”
He said Fairfest Media is positioning WTE Miami as a gateway
between the US market and the international travel industry, creating
opportunities for businesses to diversify their source markets while gaining
insight into emerging trends.
“At Fairfest Media, we're positioning WTE Miami as a gateway
connecting the U.S. market with destinations, airlines, hotels, technology
providers and travel advisors to share ideas, develop partnerships and generate
new business.”
“Our goal is simple: to ensure delegates leave with
meaningful business connections, practical knowledge and a clearer
understanding of where the industry is heading.”
Focus on the Travel Advisor of the Future
Press said the event’s vision is to create a platform that
supports travel advisors, tour operators and exhibitors as the industry
evolves.
“Our vision is for WTE Miami to become the home of the
Travel Advisor of the Future, the event that helps travel advisors, tour
operators and exhibitors succeed in an industry that is evolving faster than
ever.”
He said travel advisors are increasingly acting as trusted
consultants, entrepreneurs and destination experts, requiring access to
practical education, new products and meaningful commercial relationships.
WTE Miami is therefore built around three pillars: Learn.
Connect. Do Business.
The event will expand its hosted buyer programme, while
conference content will cover AI, emerging destinations, sales growth and
changing traveller behaviour. For exhibitors, the focus will be on connecting
destinations, hotels, airlines, DMCs and technology companies with qualified US
travel advisors and tour operators.
Press said Fairfest Media is also investing in smarter
matchmaking, customer intelligence and personalised networking to improve the
commercial value of meetings.
“Ultimately, I want WTE Miami to be recognised not simply as
another travel exhibition, but as the event shaping the future of travel
distribution by investing in the success of the Travel Advisor of the Future.”
AI to support travel professionals
Artificial intelligence will be a major theme at WTE Miami,
with the event expected to showcase applications of generative AI, agentic AI
and event-specific technologies.
Press said generative AI is already being used to improve
marketing, customer engagement and operational efficiency, while agentic AI
could further automate processes and allow travel professionals to focus more
on advisory services and customer relationships.
“One of our priorities at WTE Miami is to showcase practical
applications of AI rather than simply discussing the technology. Through our
conference programme and technology partners, delegates will see how AI can
improve productivity, personalise customer experiences and drive business
growth.”
Behind the scenes, Fairfest Media is also using AI-powered
analytics, audience segmentation and intelligent matchmaking to create more
relevant meetings and personalised experiences.
However, Press stressed that technology should complement
rather than replace human expertise.
“Technology will continue to change how we work, but travel
remains a people business. AI should enhance human expertise, not replace it.
That's why WTE Miami is focused on combining innovation with the face-to-face
relationships that continue to drive our industry.”
Two decades in the exhibition industry
Press brings more than two decades of experience in the
international exhibitions sector. He spent many years with RX, where he
directed World Travel Market London and Arabian Travel Market, before moving to
CloserStill Media and leading the repositioning of its global technology events
portfolio.
He said joining Fairfest Media represented an opportunity to
contribute to the next stage of travel and tourism trade show development in
the US, while supporting expansion into India and other markets.
“I've spent more than two decades leading some of the
world's largest international exhibitions, including many years with RX, where
I had the privilege of directing World Travel Market London and Arabian Travel
Market. I then moved to CloserStill media where I led the repositioning of
their global tech portfolio of events. Joining Fairfest Media presented an
exciting opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Travel and Tourism trade
show growth in the US, launching events in India and other geos, whilst
bringing high-potential event IPs to India.”
With its expanded international focus, hosted buyer programme and emphasis on technology and business connections, WTE Miami 2026 is positioning itself as a platform for the evolving global travel distribution landscape. -TradeArabia News Service
