Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, has launched the Northern Trail, a new tourism product under the Saudi Winter 2026 programme aimed at showcasing the Kingdom’s heritage, natural attractions and local culture.
Stretching 1,200
kilometres from Riyadh to Jubbah in the Hail Region, the trail connects 16
stops across Riyadh, Qassim and Hail, offering more than 130 tourism
experiences.
The initiative
involves 21 destination management companies and more than 335 tour guides,
with activities ranging from visits to historic villages and heritage landmarks
to desert adventures, rural and cultural experiences, local cuisine and
traditional crafts.
Al-Khateeb said the
launch would support local communities and create opportunities for
private-sector companies to benefit from the Kingdom’s growing tourism
industry, contributing to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The initial phase will
be further developed throughout the year, with additional destinations, stops
and experiences to be introduced in cooperation with tourism partners.
The launch follows the
unveiling of the Northern Trail’s official identity, with the Saudi Tourism
Authority encouraging private-sector partners and tourism experience providers
to adopt it in their promotional activities. -TradeArabia News Service
