Tantawan Tented Camp is set to become a living showcase for Dusit’s group-wide Tree of Life programme

Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hotel and property development companies, has announced a significant new addition to its portfolio with the management of Tantawan Tented Camp. Situated amidst the scenic mountains of Chiang Rai, the retreat provides travel advisors with a unique offering that blends authentic northern Thai experiences with a robust commitment to sustainability.

Located 40 minutes from Chiang Rai International Airport, this boutique hideaway features 10 spacious safari-style tents. The accommodations range from two-bedroom family options to a one-bedroom suite, all equipped with private bathrooms and modern comforts. Each tent offers sweeping valley views, providing guests with a serene and immersive nature experience.

Tantawan Tented Camp is set to become a living showcase for Dusit’s group-wide Tree of Life programme, which focuses on environmental stewardship, community engagement and social impact. This commitment is highlighted by the resort’s close affiliation with Sunflower Organic Farm, a non-profit that provides education and support to ethnic minority hill tribe girls at risk of trafficking. Dusit will further support these girls with training programmes and work experience opportunities through its educational arm, including Dusit Thani College, creating clear pathways for future careers in hospitality.

Guests are invited to tour the farm, which supplies the camp with fresh produce. The camp’s al fresco restaurant, Reu Doo Gaan, prepares northern Thai and international dishes with these and other locally sourced ingredients, giving visitors an authentic culinary taste of the region while supporting environmentally responsible practices.

Beyond its sustainability focus, the camp offers a curated programme of meaningful experiences, from trekking and cooking classes to tree-planting programmes and meditation sessions. Other facilities include a central swimming pool, an outdoor amphitheatre for movie nights, and a variety of family-friendly activities, such as pottery, glass painting, and "Tung" making - a traditional craft.
