The signing of Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah

Accor has signed an agreement with the Jabal Omar Development Company (JODC) to launch the Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, set to become the world's largest Sofitel in the Holy city. Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah will feature an unprecedented 1,141 rooms and suites across two majestic towers, representing a significant commitment to Saudi Arabia's burgeoning luxury tourism sector.

The partnership, celebrated at the FHS Dubai conference, positions the hotel for a strategic opening in 2026. With its scale and strategic location, Sofitel Makkah Jabal Omar represents one of the largest single-hotel developments under the Sofitel brand in the Middle East, underscoring Accor’s strong commitment to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 — driving economic diversification and enhancing the country’s global tourism appeal.

Located within the prestigious Jabal Omar master development, the hotel's prime location offers guests direct pedestrian access to the Holy Mosque (Haram). The expansive scale and thoughtful design are set to blend the brand's signature French zest with authentic Saudi cultural heritage, providing a serene and highly connected experience for pilgrims and visitors.

Guests will find six distinctive dining venues, including a signature fine-dining experience celebrating a fusion of French and Middle Eastern cuisine at intimate lobby lounges, alongside a dedicated Club Millésime executive lounge.
