IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with United Hospitality Management (UHM) India to develop Garner Hotel Jim Corbett in Uttarakhand, marking further expansion of its newest midscale brand in India.
Scheduled to open in
the second quarter of 2027, the 50-key hotel will be owned by Victorian
Corporation and managed by UHM India.
Located in Ramnagar,
the gateway to Jim Corbett National Park, the property will target growing
demand for branded accommodation in one of India’s established wildlife and
leisure destinations.
Spread across
approximately three acres, the hotel will offer 50 rooms and amenities focused
on comfort, convenience and value. Its development supports IHG’s strategy of
expanding beyond major metropolitan areas into high-potential leisure and
emerging markets.
Garner, launched by
IHG in 2023, has become the company’s fastest-scaling brand, reaching 100
hotels globally.
The midscale concept
focuses on convenient locations, quality sleep and breakfast, supported by
IHG’s global systems, distribution network and rewards programme.
IHG said Garner’s
conversion-friendly model and accessible positioning are attracting owners as
demand for branded midscale accommodation increases across India.
The Jim Corbett
signing adds to IHG’s broader growth strategy in India, with Garner targeting
leisure destinations, secondary cities and emerging commercial centres. -TTN
