Viceroy Group names new CEO
Viceroy Hotel Group announced Bill Walshe as chief executive officer. Walshe was previously with the Dublin based international luxury hotel group The Doyle Collection as the CEO. Prior to that Walshe has also served as chief marketing officer for Jumeirah Group at a time of tremendous growth for the international luxury hospitality group.

New role for El Behi
Ramada Downtown Dubai has promoted Wael El Behi as general manager. El Behi joined Ramada Downtown in June 2011 as executive assistant manager and assumed the acting general manager role since September 2011. He was previously general manager at several Coral Hotels & Resorts properties.

New GM for Mövenpick Jordan hotels
The Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea has announced Peter Hoesli as general manager and regional manager– Jordan. Hoesli has worked across Mövenpick hotels in Egypt, Gaza, Ramallah and Jordan. He replaces Bruno Huber who has been promoted to the position of vice president operations – Asia.

Jumeirah Group appoints Saliba
Jumeirah Group has appointed Azar Saliba as hotel manager at Mina A’ Salam in Madinat Jumeirah. Saliba is the youngest hotel manager within the Jumeirah Group and was previously resident manager at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. He leaves behind a successful track of achievements within the group since his joining in 2006.

The Onyx Hospitality Group has announced Damian Ball as general manager, at the soon-to-be-launched Amari Doha, Qatar. Ball brings with him 18 years of experience in the Asia-Pacific region. Hotel Missoni Kuwait has appointed Wassim Tarabay as director of sales and marketing. In 2007 he joined Hyatt Regency Dubai as director of sales before returning to Saudi Arabia to join Park Inn by Radisson as director of sales and marketing, his last position before being transferred to Hotel Missoni Kuwait.

Emirates appoints Bennett
Emirates Group has announced Marc Bennett as divisional senior vice president of its Destination & Leisure Management (D&LM) Division. Bennett joins Emirates from TUI Travel PLC’s European sport businesses where he was managing director for the EMEA region. Before that he was managing director of Cruise Thomas Cook, the UK's largest cruise retailer.

Tarek Abdel Dayem has been appointed as a cluster director of sales for Sharjah Rotana and Centro Sharjah. Dayem started his career in 1995 with Marriot Hotels and Radisson Blu in Egypt. He moves from Embassy Suites and Golden Tulip Hotel in Sharjah where he worked for six years.

Idenburg has held senior positions in a number of international organisations such as American Airlines, The Walt Disney Company and British Airways. Most recently he was CEO of Suntec Exhibition & Convention Centre in Singapore.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Adrian Hearn (right) as regional director of sales, MidEast and Aiman Roujouleh as regional director of sales, KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain. Hearn moves from the Hyatt Capital gate where he was DOSM while Roujouleh was with Four Seasons Hotels in Saudi Arabia as associate regional director of sales.

RAK International Airport has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Andrew Gower (right) as airport director and Mohammed Qazi as commercial director. Gower joins the team from Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, UK while Qazi has previously worked across 13 UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
