CONGO Republic’s national carrier Equatorial Congo Airlines (ECAir) is to launch direct flights from Brazzaville to Dubai, UAE. Its maiden flight in early February marked the commencement of a thrice-a-week service between Dubai and the Congo capital starting this month.
ECAir has appointed Planet Travels & Tours as its general sales agent in the UAE. A signing ceremony was held with the CEO of ECAir, Fatima Beyina-Moussa, and chairman of Planet Group, Georges Moussa.
Mokoki Gilbert, Congo Republic’s minister of transport and maritime, said at the signing ceremony, “Our delegation is here in Dubai to strengthen economic ties with the UAE and we hope ECAir’s direct flights to Dubai will open new doors for more trade tie-ups. We will work on making Brazzaville the hub for Central Africa and we invite investors to visit Brazzaville and see its potential.”
ECAir will fly to Dubai thrice a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays departing Brazzaville at 3.05 pm and arriving in Dubai at 01.40 am the next day. Flights leave Dubai on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 03.05 am to arrive in Brazzaville at 07.45 am. The new route will operate a Boeing 757 aircraft configured with 16 business class and 132 economy class seats, with the first commercial flight starting on March 31.
