Singapore Tourism Board has recently launched its 52 Weekends calendar for 2020, which is the perfect guide to help you plan any of the upcoming weekends, according to individual tastes.
The annual pre-arrival e-guide focuses on leisure activities curated for all 52 weekends of the year, highlighting the country’s shopping, gastronomy and cultural treasures through hundreds of activities catalogued by dates.
Key not-to-miss events over the year include: the ongoing Chinese New Year celebrations that will last until March 13; the HSBC Women's World Championship of Golf from February 28 to March 3; the Hydeout Festival in April featuring acts from Rita Ora and DJ Snake among other world-class entertainers; Hari Raya (Eid Al Fitr) celebrations from May 24 to 25; the undoubtedly delicious Singapore Food Festival from July 10 to 26; the Singapore Night Festival in August, which transforms the city into a carnival at sundown; the Grand Prix Season Singapore from September 12 to 20, featuring the world’s first Formula 1 night street race; a monthlong celebration of Halloween from end of September to October 31; C3 Anime Festival Asia Singapore taking place in late November complete with cosplay opportunities; Christmas festivities on Singapore’s Orchard Road, with Christmas on a Great Street, and Christmas Wonderland, at the picturesque Gardens by the Bay; and finally the New Year’s Countdown at Marina Bay Singapore.

The e-guide also features useful travel information such as essential apps including the Visit Singapore app, GST refunds, getting around in Singapore and arrival information.
One of the highlights of the 52 Weekends guide is Jewel Changi Airport, which opened in April last year, and provides a multi-faceted experience that includes attractions already a hit with visitors from the Middle East – such as the 14,000 sqm Canopy Park, unique shopping and dining concepts, as well as airport and accommodation facilities. Visitors to Jewel Changi Airport have been awed by views of the majestic 40-metre HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, as well as the lush greenery of the Shiseido Forest Valley.
The guide goes on to highlight shopping essentials, unique retail experiences, curated retail must-haves, with even a few locals-only shopping secrets thrown in for the retail happy traveller.
This is followed by the best places to eat and drink and enjoy sightseeing, with separate features on halal-friendly dining and sustainable dining.
