Hawar Resort by Mantis in Bahrain offers full island buyouts and intimate private island ceremonies for up to 50 guests

Bahrain's serene Hawar Island, situated 20 kilometres from the mainland, is home to the newly opened eco-luxury Hawar Resort by Mantis, which aims to blend opulent comforts with eco-conscious design, while respecting Bahrain's rich heritage and unique environment.

Since its opening in January 2025, Hawar Resort by Mantis has seen a steadily growing interest from both regional and international guests, especially those seeking exclusive, nature-driven experiences. Despite being a new destination, it has achieved strong occupancy levels during key holiday periods and have hosted several successful events.

“Our unique positioning as an eco-conscious, island luxury retreat in Bahrain has resonated with couples seeking private, romantic getaways –making our weddings and honeymoon offerings especially popular,” a spokesperson from the resort tells TTN.

Destination wedding packages at Hawar Resort by Mantis start at $111 per person and currently include catering and venue hire only, with recommendations for trusted vendors for décor and other services. Full island buyouts and intimate private island ceremonies for up to 50 guests are also possible.

“For honeymooners, we offer curated experiences upon request – ranging from spa treatments and romantic dinners to sunset cruises. Spa packages for couples include massages, facials, grooming services and yoga, with bespoke luxury retreats for four-day experiences. Honeymooners can expect thoughtfully designed welcome amenities, romantic villa setups, and the serene luxury of an island escape.”

Hawar Island, a UNESCO-recognised biodiversity hotspot, provides an unspoiled natural backdrop. Mantis, known for its focus on sustainable and experiential travel, has designed the resort to harmonise with this unique setting, catering to discerning travellers seeking immersive, eco-focused escapes.

The resort features 102 thoughtfully designed accommodations, drawing inspiration from the Bahraini tradition of Al-Korar, or woven thobes. Guests can choose from spacious rooms within the main hotel or opt for more secluded beach or overwater villas, each boasting a private pool. The overwater villas offer panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, creating a sense of floating above the turquoise waters. The architecture combines local materials like limestone with contemporary elements, and tent-like structures pay homage to Bahrain’s nomadic heritage, shading buildings and terraces.

Since its opening in January 2025, Hawar Resort by Mantis has attracted growing interest from both regional and international guests, particularly those seeking exclusive, nature-driven experiences. The resort has achieved strong occupancy during key holiday periods and has successfully hosted several events and media visits.
