
A BRAND makeover has been given to Reed Travel Exhibitions’ (RTE) group of meetings and incentive events.
Barcelona based EIBTM’s red diamond logo is to be used, but the other events – GIBTM in Abu Dhabi, CIBTM in Beijing and AIBTM in Baltimore, USA – now use the same diamond shape but with different colours to signify each exhibition.
The other colours will be yellow for GIBTM, blue for CIBTM and green for AIBTM, with the initials for each event sitting in lower case within the diamond.
Paul Kennedy, MBE, group exhibition director RTE’s Meetings and Incentives Events said, “In launching our Americas event AIBTM it seemed the right moment to revisit our ‘IBTM’ brand identity and align the branding of all our events.
“Our events have been built on delivering best business, best education and best networking. The new ‘IBTM’ brand identity is fresh and clean, reflecting our global reach and expansion, professionalism, and reputation within the meetings sector around the world.”
Now in its third year, GIBTM (The Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition) was launched in response to the demand by the region to have a dedicated and regular event for MICE.
RTE was approached by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority to organise an event that was complementary to its sister events around the world. GIBTM 2009 will take place from March 31 to April 2 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the event will be open from 10 am to 6 pm and on Thursday it will close at 5 pm.
GIBTM differs from other exhibitions in the Gulf region as it is the only one dedicated to the meetings industry. It is based on the successful format and brand values of EIBTM which provides business-to-business opportunities, networking and a professional education programme.
GIBTM forms part of Gulf Meetings Industry Week which includes Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Gulf Meetings and Events Conference taking place at the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi, March 28 to 29.
