Minor Hotels has announced plans to open Avani Kota Kinabalu, a 352-key premium lifestyle hotel, in Q1 2027 as part of The Logg Luyang integrated development by KTI Landmark.
The property will mark the Avani brand’s debut in Sabah and
expand Minor Hotels’ presence in Malaysia.
Located about 10 minutes from Kota Kinabalu International
Airport, the hotel will target both leisure and corporate travellers, serving
the city’s growing tourism and business demand.
“Kota Kinabalu is evolving rapidly as a regional business
and tourism hub, creating strong demand for a hotel that can move easily
between corporate, leisure and social use,” said Winston Gong, General Manager
of Avani Kota Kinabalu. “Our focus will be on delivering an efficient, locally
relevant guest experience while building a property with genuine appeal to the
city’s residents.”
The hotel will feature five dining and social venues,
including an all-day restaurant, Chinese restaurant, Lobby Lounge, The Pantry
and rooftop SEEN Restaurant.
Facilities will also include meeting and banquet spaces, an
infinity pool and AvaniFit gym.
The development strengthens Minor Hotels’ lifestyle
portfolio in Malaysia, following Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas in
Johor, while supporting its broader expansion across Asia. -TTN
