The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced that air navigation has returned to normal across the UAE’s airspace, following the stabilisation of the situation and the lifting of the temporary precautionary measures that had been implemented.

The Authority confirmed that the decision was taken after a comprehensive assessment of operational and security conditions, and in coordination with relevant authorities, emphasising that continuous real-time monitoring remains in place to ensure the highest levels of safety of air navigation.

The GCAA expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of passengers and airlines during the past period, reaffirming the full readiness of its technical and operational teams to respond to any potential developments.

Dubai-based Emirates airline said following the partial reopening of regional airspace, Emirates is operating a reduced flight schedule. Passengers can check its latest flight schedules for upcoming flights and book seats to travel, it said.

"We continue to monitor the situation and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly," it added.

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways said on its website that the airline is currently operating a limited commercial flight schedule between Abu Dhabi and a number of key destinations.

"We are accommodating guests with previous bookings on these flights as soon as possible. Tickets are also available for sale on etihad.com," it said.

The decision to operate a limited flight schedule has been taken in coordination with relevant authorities following extensive safety and security assessments. Etihad continues to monitor the situation closely and will only operate flights once all safety criteria are met, it added.  -TradeArabia News Service
