Ajman Tourism concludes India roadshow

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development - ADTD conducted a roadshow in India to showcase the emirate’s unique tourism and entertainment developments, during which a delegation headed by His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, held a series of meetings with key tourism officials, travel and tourism agents, tour operators, and hotel managers and representatives to attract more visitors to Ajman and highlight the emirate’s investment opportunities.

The roadshow was held from October 9 to 13 in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, and helped in building fruitful partnerships and enhancing cooperation with representatives of the tourism sector and concerned parties to attract tourists from various parts of India and investors to the tourism sector, increase hotel occupancy rates, and highlight the new projects and latest developments in Ajman.

Ajman Tourism reports indicate that the Indian market is the 2nd largest among international feeder markets for Ajman over the past three years, with more than 65,000 visitors constituting over 12 per cent of the tourists visiting the emirate.

 

JNTO launches Japan Travel House in Qatar

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) inaugurated the “Japan Travel House” in Qatar, a pioneering initiative designed to serve as a dedicated contact point and information hub for travel to Japan. This strategic move aims to kindle interest in visiting Japan and encourage travel from the GCC countries, with a particular focus on Qatar.

The official launching event took place on October 4, 2023, at the Japan Travel House. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Satoshi MAEDA, Ambassador of Japan to the State of Qatar. Notably, the ceremony was also open to the general public in Qatar, providing them with an opportunity to learn about travel to Japan.

The Japan Travel House will actively distribute pamphlets highlighting various tourist attractions across Japan. Visitors can expect personalized face-to-face travel guidance and prompt responses to their inquiries. Additionally, the facility will feature informative display panels introducing diverse destinations from all corners of Japan. Plans are also in place to host Japanese cultural experience events.

 

Els Club Desaru Coast enhances Valley Course

The Els Club Desaru Coast, the stunning coastal golf resort in Johor, Malaysia, has completed significant upgrades to the greens and fairways of its breathtaking Valley Course. The comprehensive enhancements to the playing surface offer a fantastic experience for golfers, a significant step for The Els Club Desaru Coast, which already boasts luxurious facilities for its guests, set amidst an enchanting and unforgettable landscape.

Renowned for its stunning coastal views and challenging layout, the Valley Course has been meticulously improved to provide golfers with an even more captivating and enjoyable playing experience. These enhancements to the fairways and greens have addressed challenges with the course, and oversaw the strategic re-planting initiative using fresh turf, resulting in the establishment of a more consistent playing surface.

The Valley Course was recognised as Malaysia’s Best Golf Course in 2020 and 2021 at the World Golf Awards.

 

Malta celebrates milestones in the UAE

The Embassy of the Republic of Malta in the United Arab Emirates commemorated Malta’s 59th Independence Anniversary and the remarkable milestone of 50 years of diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates with a celebration held in Abu Dhabi at the Dusit Thani Hotel, on October 4, 2023.

Among the distinguished guests-of-honour in attendance were His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and the Honourable Owen Bonnici, Minister for National Heritage, the Arts, and Local Government, as well as a number of government officials from Malta as well as from the UAE.

The event was attended by Maltese nationals living in the UAE, Emirati and international dignitaries, and friends of Malta from various spheres.
