An important mid-market Accor cluster in Dubai has been awarded the prestigious Green Key Certification.

“In the heart of Dubai, Novotel World Trade Centre, Ibis World Trade Centre and Ibis One Central stand as pioneers of sustainability, having achieved the prestigious Green Key Certification. This recognition underscores our significant strides towards eco-friendly hospitality and leadership in global sustainable tourism,” Anoop Dhondoo, Regional General Manager, tells TTN in an interview.

“I’m impressed by our tangible results, including a marked reduction in carbon emissions and the implementation of advanced energy and water management systems. Our commitment is evident in our elimination of single-use plastics, adoption of locally sourced culinary offerings and establishment of a discrimination-free workplace.

“These concrete actions reflect our dedication to environmental stewardship and contribute to shaping a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry.”

With its iconic location near Dubai’s World Trade Centre, the property cluster has witnessed the evolving nature of business travel. “With the recent renovation of Ibis World Trade Centre, we’ve embraced the ever-changing nature of our business. Our focus isn’t just on Gen Z and young travellers, but on understanding the evolving needs of all business travellers. This led us to revamp our concept offering, diversify F&B choices along with providing guests with exceptional service. The result? A beautiful hotel that caters to the dynamic demands of today’s business world,” Dhondoo says.

The three hotels within Dubai’s World Trade Centre are strategically located for exhibitors and visitors year-round. “Recognising shifts in booking patterns, we’ve observed a delightful trend – a fusion of business and pleasure. Guests now extend their stays, transforming business trips into pleasurable experiences. We’ve aptly termed it ‘bleisure’. The Ibis World Trade Centre has undergone a transformative renovation, transcending its role as a mere business hotel. Positioned within walking distance of the Museum of the Future and a short drive from iconic destinations like the Dubai Frame and Burj Khalifa, our location enhances the allure. We’re keenly aware of the importance of staying attuned to evolving needs, and we’re dedicated to adapting and adjusting to ensure a consistently exceptional experience for our guests.”

“We understand that the market is always changing and it’s not just about catering to younger travellers only,” says the recently promoted Regional General Manager. “We embrace the evolving nature of individuals, acknowledging that what’s relevant today may not be so in the next few years.

“With a visionary perspective, we’ve made the future the focus of our next business cycle. This has led us to introduce diverse food and beverage concepts, such as Twine, our modern and beautiful Mediterranean restaurant. Collaborating with partners, we offer an Indian gastro experience and a delightful vegan destination. Whether you seek a quiet corner for a meeting or a workstation to bring your laptop, we’ve created spaces for all needs. Our commitment to staying ahead is reflected in our attention to business trends, ensuring we set ourselves apart and align with the latest preferences. At Ibis World Trade Centre, we’re not just a place to stay; we’re a destination that evolves with you.”

The hotel deftly adapts to cultural shifts such as food offerings, entertainment and events as well. “At Ibis World Trade Centre, music is in our DNA and we’ve taken it to the next level. We have set up a live DJ to set the perfect vibe as background music, changing beats during different evening shifts.

“It’s not just about what’s on your plate, it’s about the rhythm of your dining experience. This musical touch extends to both our food and beverage offerings, making your visit truly harmonious.

“Excitingly, in 2024, we’re gearing up to host special events, including the much-anticipated Ibis Music event,” Dhondoo tells TTN readers.
