Fairmont appoints new multi-property Director of Finance

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has appointed Joseph Roy as the new Cluster Director of Finance for three of its Fairmont properties in the UAE, namely: Fairmont Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road, Ajman and Fujairah.

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has appointed Joseph Roy as the new Cluster Director of Finance for three of its Fairmont properties in the UAE, namely: Fairmont Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road, Ajman and Fujairah. 
 
A qualified Accountant from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Roy brings a wealth of experience in operational finance with renowned international brands. Previously serving as Director of Finance for prestigious hotels in UAE including Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, Hilton Al Habtoor City complex, Anantara the Palm Dubai Resort & Spa and Anantara Residences, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Abu Dhabi, The Yas Hotel (W Abu Dhabi, Yas Island) and Grand Millennium Dubai, Roy has consistently demonstrated the ability to build strong collaborative relationships across various stakeholders in the business to drive business performance, a statement said.
 
During his career, Roy has been instrumental in implementing and executing financial management strategies that have led to significant cost and efficiency improvements, revenue growth, and enhanced financial performance for the businesses that he worked for. 
 
In his return to the Fairmont brand, Roy will assume a strategic leadership role, overseeing the financial operations across the three properties of Fairmont Dubai, Ajman, and Fujairah. His responsibilities will encompass a comprehensive range of financial functions, including but not limited to financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, auditing, statutory compliance, risk management, financial processes improvement, procurement, overall decision-making, and investor and stakeholder relations. He will lead the finance teams of the properties in the ongoing transformation of the finance function into more of a strategic business partner. 
 
Roy will also add new dimensions to aspects of financial planning and analysis while ensuring that the business is protected with strong financial controls and through regulatory compliance, it said.
