The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has introduced a new resolution allowing expatriates from any GCC country to enter Kuwait on a tourist visa, which can be obtained upon arrival at any border or airport.

To qualify, travellers must possess a valid passport and a residence permit from their GCC country with at least six months of validity, reported Arab Times.

The resolution became effective immediately upon its publication in the Official Gazette (Kuwait Alyoum) on August 6, 2025.

This change, reflected in Ministerial Resolution No. 1386 of 2025, was signed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, and it revokes Ministerial Resolution No. 1228 of 2008 along with any conflicting rules.

This decision follows a proposal from the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry and aligns with Decree-Law No. 114 of 2024 concerning the Foreigners’ Residence Law.
