The King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah served around 28.55 million passengers on 169,900 flights from the beginning of the year through the end of July, while handling 33.6 million bags.
This was revealed by a performance report, which was reviewed by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Jeddah Airports Company CEO Mazen Johar was in attendance at the review meeting, said a Saudi Press Agency report.The airport's highest daily traffic was recorded on January 17, when it served 195,300 passengers.During the 1447 AH Umrah season, the airport served around 6.16 million passengers on 36,400 flights and handled 7.2 million bags, with more than 10,000 employees from various agencies operating at the airport.The report also covered the 1447 AH Hajj season, during which the airport served more than 1.67 million pilgrims during the arrival and departure phases through more than 9,600 flights and handled around 2.76 million bags.Buses transported 821,700 pilgrims on 22,855 trips during the Hajj season, while the Haramain High Speed Railway carried 48,200 pilgrims on 207 trips.
