With rising interest from the Gulf region, Goa is deepening its engagement with Middle Eastern travellers, tourism investors and trade partners. At the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai, the Indian coastal state showcased its unique offerings–luxury boutique stays, exclusive cultural trails, wellness retreats, high-end weddings, MICE-ready venues, and family-friendly getaways.
Minister for Goa Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, expressed optimism about attracting Gulf travellers year-round. “We want to showcase Goa at its best, with a focus on Monsoon tourism. The hinterland opens doors to adventure, wellness, and culinary tourism. Our heritage isn’t just about what we are–it’s about the way we want to welcome guests.” Direct international flights from Dubai and Sharjah to Goa’s Manohar International Airport (Mopa) and Goa International Airport (Dabolim) were highlighted, streamlining access to the region’s sun-drenched beaches and rich heritage. Beyond leisure tourism, Goa is pioneering Regenerative Tourism, inviting visitors to actively contribute to ecological restoration and community well-being. From organic farm experiences and heritage walks to immersive village stays and artisanal markets, the initiative promises a deeper connection with the land and its people. As Goa evolves into a global model for sustainable and community-focused tourism, the region is positioning itself as a preferred destination for Gulf travellers seeking both relaxation and meaningful cultural experiences.
