Halul Real Estate Investment Company has started construction work on its Doha Oasis mixed use development in Al Musheireb, Doha, Qatar. The project is expected to be completed by November 2018.
The mixed-use podium will comprise housing, retail, a food court, cinemas, a large mall of three storeys and cafes as well as one of the largest indoor amusement theme parks that will occupy the central area of the podium and will accommodate 26 or more different rides and attractions.
The project will also include a high-end residential building, 14 nine-storey buildings, which feature penthouses and 245 apartments. The final component of the project is a seven-star hotel, which will have 28 floors, six restaurants, a gym, indoor pool and business centre.
A primary sub-station is to be constructed on the project site. The buildings contain musharrabiyya-like perforated boxes obstructing the sunrays and creating an interesting architectural feature on the elevations that reflect some of Qatar’s traditional material and character. The project is landscaped with cobbled paths, lush plants and thick trees, and provides shaded areas allowing for various activities.
Nabil Gholam Architects is the architect; the JV of AKT II and Bureau D'etutes Rodolphe Matar is the structural design consultant; Design Engineering Partners is the MEP design and infrastructure consultant; and Projacs is the PMC.
SCOPE OF WORK
Construction of mixed use development over a total area of 460,000 sq m, including:
- A 28-floor seven-star hotel and residential buildings on an area of 256,000 sq m
- Basements parking and services over an area 205,000 sq m
- An 80,000 sq m landscaped area
- A three-storey mall
- A theme attraction park
- Cafes and restaurants
- Cinemas
