Jumeirah Burj Al Arab closes for restoration

Jumeirah has announced a phased restoration programme for Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, aimed at preserving the iconic property’s legacy after more than 25 years of operation.

Opened in 1999, the sail-shaped landmark is now closed for 18 months for restoration, led by renowned interior architect Tristan Auer, whose approach focuses on maintaining heritage while introducing refined contemporary elements. 

The project will enhance interiors with careful attention to craftsmanship, ensuring the property retains its distinctive character.

As the flagship of Jumeirah’s portfolio, the hotel features 198 luxury suites and is known for pioneering personalised butler service. 

Radisson expands with Dubai opening

Radisson Hotel Group has opened the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Barsha Heights, a five-star property located in Barsha Heights, Dubai. 

The hotel features 537 rooms and suites, five dining venues, 16 meeting and event spaces, a spa, fitness centre, outdoor pool and Kids’ Club, catering to business and leisure travellers as well as families and extended-stay guests.

Strategically located near key business hubs such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City and Knowledge Park, the hotel also offers easy access to major attractions including Mall of the Emirates, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina.

The property is designed as a dynamic social and business hub, with extensive meeting facilities accommodating up to 250 guests. 

Rotana introduces 30-night stay offering

Rotana has launched The Ultimate Monthcation, a global extended-stay initiative offering structured 30-night stays across 55 participating properties in its portfolio. The programme spans hotels, resorts and serviced apartments, combining fixed monthly pricing with integrated benefits such as daily breakfast, dining and laundry services, and loyalty rewards through Rotana DISCOVERY.

Designed to meet growing demand for longer, more flexible stays, the initiative blends residential comfort with full hospitality services, catering to remote workers, families and leisure travellers. Guests can choose from diverse settings, from beachfront resorts to city hotels and purpose-built serviced apartments.

Wolseley debuts with New York flagship

The Wolseley Hotels has announced its global launch, with its first property, The Wolseley Hotel New York, set to open in early 2027 near Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan. 

The hotel will be housed in the historic 1905 Lambs Club building, a landmark linked to New York’s theatrical and cultural heritage.

The 76-room property will blend British elegance with New York’s dynamic character, featuring refined interiors, a wellness centre and a cellar-level speakeasy bar. It will also introduce The Wolseley New York, marking the brand’s first restaurant and bar presence in the United States.

Virgin Limited Edition to open in Marrakech 

Virgin Limited Edition has announced the development of a new luxury hotel near Marrakech, set to open in 2027. The 37-suite property is being developed in partnership with Sazanes Immobilier on a 10-hectare private agricultural estate, with construction already underway.

Located 25 minutes from central Marrakech, the hotel will offer a tranquil retreat while providing access to the city’s cultural and culinary experiences. 

Designed to reflect Moroccan craftsmanship and Berber traditions, the project will feature three restaurants, a wellness centre with a hammam.
