Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Portuguese developer Coporgest have signed agreements to develop, brand and operate Park Hyatt Comporta and Park Hyatt Comporta Residences, with the luxury resort expected to open in 2029.

The project will mark the debut of the Park Hyatt brand in Portugal, expanding Hyatt’s luxury presence in Europe.

The resort will be located in Comporta, a coastal destination in the Alentejo region known for its beaches, protected natural surroundings and relaxed lifestyle. It is expected to be within an hour of Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport.

Current plans call for 58 guestrooms and suites, six two-bedroom private villas and 22 fully serviced residences.

The development is also set to feature swimming pools, a wellness and fitness centre, padel court, kids’ club and several restaurants.

Park Hyatt Comporta will be adjacent to the Troia Golf Course and within a short drive of four additional courses, strengthening its appeal as a leisure destination.

“This location for a Park Hyatt hotel feels like a perfect match. Comporta has a rare combination of relaxed beach living, protected nature and creative spirit, with a sense of calm that has remained wonderfully intact. It’s a natural home for the understated, highly personal approach to luxury Park Hyatt hotels have been shaping for nearly half a century,” said Tamara Lohan MBE, Global Brand Leader – Luxury, Hyatt.

The branded residences will offer owners private living combined with access to Park Hyatt services and amenities. A further 31 villas and 49 apartments within the wider Comporta Beach Resort will be developed as Luxury Beach Residences by Coporgest. -TTN
